The Path To Release
Since 2016 we’ve been chipping away at a seemingly impossible feat: Remake Oblivion in Skyrim’s engine. Today, we’re less than a year away from achieving that goal.
Watch along with us as we take you behind the scenes to share the exact progress we’ve made on Skyblivion and what we have left to finalize before our 2025 release. With the Elder Scrolls communities support we’ll be able to finish the final steps in completing our dream of remaking Oblivion for a new generation to enjoy.
Together, we’ll once again close shut the jaws of Oblivion in 2025.

I am certain that Skyblivion will at the very minimum, be less buggy than whatever the new Elderscrolls game gets released. Most likely it’ll be a lot less buggy and a LOT more fun. Afterall, programmers/modders/gamers are involved in this process. I am psyched and can’t wait for the release! You should find a way to get it into Steam so you can track the downloads. I’d laugh my head off if you all got more unique downloads than Bethesda does with their release!
As for the bugs, let’s not forget that the engine will be from Bethesda.
But I’m also waiting for Skyblivion. The original Oblivion left me with a lot of positive feelings, and when I wanted to play it again, I found out about the Skyblivion project and decided to wait to play Skyblivion later.
If an official remake is released, I’ll probably watch the video reviews about it. It’s hardly more than that.

We are incredibly excited to finally have this masterpiece in our hands as fans, followers, and supporters. So many thanks to every single person who put their effort into this project, and in keeping it on track through what could only have been countless hurdles, roadblocks, and setbacks throughout these years! As a diehard Oblivion fan, I truly do not know how to express enough gratitude for what Skyblivion has become.

I think they are concentrating on TES6. They know that Skyblivion is almost rdy to go, why should they waste ressources on it.
I hope it Releases soon. Im waiting since 2016 for it and want to play oblivion again in a beautiful shape and Design.
Bethesda isn’t making the Oblivion remake. Virtuous is. Think how New Vegas got made. Obsidian developed, Bethesda published. It’s being remade in UE5 with reworked combat, and it may come out in the next few months. I wouldn’t count it out as being good. Likely Skyblivion will compete with it in terms of which is better, but the remake will bring Oblivion to a whole new generation, which can only be a good thing.
Welp, hearing about UE5 doesn’t bring any excitement to be honest.
Even if someone else made it, using UE5 instead of Bethesda letting them use like, a fork of the ES6 engine makes no sense. It would ruin mod compatibility. Skyblivion will be able to have loads of original Obivion and Skyrim mods ported forward to it. Anything on UE5 will be all on its own, and the chances they release a proper Unreal Editor+ related tools for it are slim to none.
My first ever true open world rpg I ever played and first game I ever put a considerable amount of time into was Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion. As a kid I was not allowed to play video games for the longest time but when I finally was able to, this masterpiece essentially made my childhood. Regardless if you make the 2025 release date mark or not I will continue rooting for you guys. This is clearly a labor of love and you guys are all incredible for doing this not just for yourselves but for the community as a whole. Looking forward to playing this, thanks a million to the whole team working on Skyblivion!

My Skyrim version is 1.5.97.0 and I have backed it up on an external drive incase steam decides to upgrade it without my permission. A lot of my mods will not work on the newer versions. Will Skyblivion still work on my version? I enjoyed Oblivion until Skyrim came out but Oblivion doesn’t have the exceptional graphics that Skyrim has. I appreciate all your hard work.
You can always find a version online *Wink* *Wink*
If it does need a newer version of Skyrim and you have the older, like me. Backported Extended ESL mod will most likely work on it. If for some reason it doesn’t work or it is like Fallout London in a way, you can always change the name of your skyrim folder to something else, then reinstall skyrim updated, which will make a new folder. When you are done with the mod all you got to do is change the new skyrim folder to something else and change the old skyrim folder back to its normal name, basically you can have 2 skyrims installed at once like this.

I can’t wait to replay the dark brotherhood quest line from oblivion. It was a far better story than that of skyrim. However I do prefer the DB armor from skyrim which it seems made it into the game (skyblivion)! Thank you for creating this for long time fans. It should def help hold us over until the release of ESVI.
Just grabbed Oblivion GOTY Deluxe on sale. Easier then finding my old disks and a disc drive for my PC. Watch humble bundle for those looking for a deal. I now wait patiently for release. Hats off to the whole crew working on this. I am unable to understand how much work went into this mountain but I am grateful. Thank you!
If you bought oblivion GOTY edition on steam, you’re not getting all the DLCs you paid for, as the host files on steam are missing some of the DLCs. If you buy it on GOG you will get the DLCs you paid for, and can even transfer them over to your steam version if you rather play through steam. Or you can find them elsewhere on the internet.
Just thought I’d let you know since not many do until hours after they but the game.

Been feeling like playing Oblivion again lately so I figured I’d check up on Skyblivion’s progress. Happy to see it’s getting released soon. It has been a long running joke with my wife for the last 5 years where I will at random say,”Man, when is Skyblivion coming out!” We could be at dinner and it will just come up. I am excited that we are now so close but sadly my long running joke must end. Thank you guys for your continued efforts and development in possibly one of my favorite games of all time! Soon you will get some rest champions, you have earned it!

I was wrong it’s a fan made mod – No, Skyblivion will not be a separate game itself; it is a fan-made total conversion mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, meaning you will need to own Skyrim to play it, and it will essentially function as a complete remake of Oblivion within the Skyrim engine
Really excited to play this! loved oblivion growing up and would love to replay it in the newer engine. Curious how the enemy scaling is though? The biggest issue with OG oblivion was how when you got to high levels it got silly with your average bandit wearing ebony/daedric gear. Will this be the same or has this aspect been reworked?
